Our Journey
Kuyayki Perú Minnesota was founded by a group of passionate Peruvian women with a shared mission: to preserve, share, and keep Peruvian culture alive in Minnesota.
What began as a small group of five members performing two traditional dances at schools and community events has grown into a vibrant cultural association of more than 40 members, proudly representing over 16 traditional Peruvian dances and cultural exhibition tables that showcase Peru’s rich heritage.
Kuyayki is uniquely intergenerational, where mothers and daughters dance side by side, strengthening family bonds while passing traditions on to the next generation. Today, the group performs across schools, universities, libraries, parks, community organizations, and city parades in Minneapolis, and has expanded its cultural outreach to Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa.
Through every performance and event, Kuyayki proudly represents Peru with respect, passion, and pride serving as cultural ambassadors of Peru in Minnesota.
